Auspicious 8 is a three-row slot with three rows of eight fixed paylines; these paylines run vertically and horizontally and diagonally. Auspicious translation is "lucky" or "good luck", which refers to the luckiest number 8 in Chinese culture. The reel rotates on the wall of the Red Roof Temple, with a golden emperor statue on the right hand side, sitting on piles of Chinese dollars.
There are nine theme-related symbols in use, including various animals, Chinese yuan, lanterns, gold ingots and Chinese characters. There are no wild symbols, but there is a scattering and is represented by a large gold '8'.
